IMPORTANT NOTICE Monday, September 14 will be the last day to submit your questionnaire answers for publication in the TMHS Reunion Newsletter. Need a blank form? Send a note to [email protected]. REUNION CHATTER... 2 months until the reunion and we already have almost 100 people attending! Who's been buying tickets to the reunion? You can see you has bought one or two reunion tickets so far (early August) by checking the ROSTERS section of this website. Look for the red names. We already have former classmates traveling from Florida, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Texas as well as throughout Pennsylvania. How do I actually purchase my TM Reunion ticket(s)? We are not posting actual ticket-purchasing information on this public website since it involves a personal home address. But we can give you the following information here. • Window of opportunity for ticket purchase: April - August. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door. • Ticket price: $60.00 per ticket • Make checks payable to: Taylor-Moosic Reunion and mail checks to Don and Gail Davies Miller. The easiest way to get in touch with us to get the address for actual ticket purchase is via our email account: [email protected]. Even though submitting your email to us does NOT mean that you are now signed up to go to the reunion, we will happily send you notes to keep you informed. Actually, you have until August 15 to decide. What can I find out by checking the Roster section of the website? First, you can see the names of all the graduates of a particular class as well as married names if we know them. Sadly, you can also see the names of the people who have passed away by the RIP next to their names. You can see those with whom we have made contact by the "yes" after the name; and conversely, you can see the names of people who are still on our "Where in the world is" list. You can check who has purchased a reunion ticket if the name is in red, and you can see how many tickets the person has purchased by the number at the end of his/her line. Are people buying tickets already? Happily, people have started to buy tickets... and some of them are coming from faraway states. Tickets went on sale at the beginning of April, and we gathered 24 party-goers as of April 10. Remember, you can see who has purchased a ticket or two in the Roster section. If the name is red, that person has purchased ticket(s). What will happen after I purchase my tickets? (1) Your name will turn red in the roster section of the website. (2) You will get an email from us with an Admission Ticket on it as well as a Questionnaire. What is the purpose of this Questionnaire? We are hoping to create a Keepsake Program/Newsletter that you can take home and enjoy after the reunion. In order to do this, we will need your input. If you do not say anything, then we will have nothing to say either. And that's no fun. So we are hoping you will contribute, at least partially, to make our keepsake publication enjoyable to read. Are there hotels nearby? Yes, there are a number of hotels in the Montage Mountain vicinity which is about a 10-minute drive to Colarusso's on Birney Avenue. All are listed as Scranton addresses; they are in what we remember as Minooka, just up the hill from Moosic. You might also be surprised to know that Taylor and Minooka are now connected where Taylor's Union Street meets Minooka's Davis Street. What is included in the price of the Reunion? We will be having a 5-hour party that includes a buffet dinner, an open bar, a deejay, a photographer, games with prizes, and a lot of fun. How can we order photographs? The photographer will offer group photos in 2 sizes. A 5x7 will cost $5.00 and an 8x10 will cost $10.00. Orders will be taken at the Reunion. Candid pics will be put on Shutterfly where each of us can order the candid photos that we want. Who is the deejay? Mike Walton Productions is providing the deejay and comes highly recommended. Is there any way for me to tell if my friends are going to the reunion? Actually, there is a way. When a classmate has paid for a ticket, his/her name in the Roster section will be in red type. Some from the Class of 1965 have already paid (we needed start-up funds) and committed to attending. You can see those names in red in the 1965 roster already. As soon as we figure the exact ticket price, we will offer the payment procedure and once someone has paid, that name will turn red on the roster. What will people be wearing to the reunion? There is no strict dress code for the reunion. I guess the norm might be called Business Casual. What that means to me is that I will not be wearing bluejeans, nor will I be wearing a dress. But if you wish to come in a ball gown or cargo pants, you will still be enthusiastically welcomed. Where is Colarusso's La Palazzo in Moosic? The reunion venue is located at 4500 Birney Avenue, on the same spot where the old teen hang-out, Kay's, used to be. If I am not mistaken, Colarusso's dance floor is in the same spot as Kay's dance floor. How can I help make this reunion a success? The more, the merrier! We are desperately trying to get email addresses. If you wish to be on the reunion-information list, send your email address to us at [email protected]. You will then receive periodic updates on our progress. If you are in contact with friends from the classes of '62-'66, please send us their email addresses or contact them and have them send us an email. We need your help to spread the word. |
